Canterbury district is set to welcome a new addition to its thriving business landscape as David Lloyd, one of the leading health and fitness chains, announces plans to open a new health facility in Herne Bay.

The expansion from David Lloyd reinforces the importance of the area as a prime location for inward investment within the South East. Located at the Altira Business Park in Herne Bay, the new gym is expected to create 80 to 100 permanent jobs, as well as 60 construction roles during the build phase. It is set to include group exercise studios, indoor soft play, a kids’ club, and courts for tennis, padel, pickleball, and badminton. For premium members, there will also be a spa retreat and garden.

The new development will cater to the growing demand for premium lifestyle facilities in the district. By offering a comprehensive range of services, from children’s activities to wellness facilities, the development will cater to the increasing number of fitness enthusiasts, families, and individuals alike.

As one of the UK’s leading health and fitness brands, David Lloyd’s arrival adds to the district’s recent growth, showcasing how the area supports both business and community development.
